On the Sill - Monstera Adansonii
It's been a couple weeks since we've been "On the Sill" 🌿😉. This week I thought we'd talk about the Swiss cheese vine. Otherwise known as Monstera Adansonii. The first picture is of Willy's vine that receives fairly minimal light sitting away from some northwest exposure and the second image is of mine, which sits in my east window (of course 😝).
These guys are seriously cool looking and as you just read, pretty versatile as to their light needs. I'll need to move mine soon, as direct east light will become too much for it during the spring and summer months.
In my experience, these guys like their soil to stay a bit moist. Only allow the top inch of soil to dry out a little between waterings. And as always, be mindful of quantity. Always err towards too little water then too much. You can always water again if things feel dry, but you can't get rid of excess water once it's in there 🙈. Unless, of course, you've got some drainage holes 😉.
